Where do I start?

Now you have registered and logged in to your LogonBox you may be wondering where and/or how to start configuring it to your requirements.

For a quick overview of the administrative user interface we have created an article which explains the structure and some of the key areas of the user interface.

Navigating the user interface

Below are some of the common steps all new LogonBox administrators will need to perform.

Connecting Users

LogonBox is all about users. Currently you have your own account but I'm guessing you will want to link your LogonBox to a user directory somewhere so you can roll out one of the LogonBox services to your users. Maybe you have an on-premise Active Directory, or use cloud services like Google Apps or Azure Active Directory?

To configure your user database head over to the Users & Permissions menu and select the Users sub category. Here you will find the Configure User Database link that will let you link your LogonBox to a number of different directory types.

If you need to access resources that are behind your corporate firewall and not accessible from our cloud service, you should install a Secure Node behind your firewall. Secure Node provides a secure callback connection between your on-premise resources and the LogonBox cloud.

Here are some links to help you get started.

Setup Password Self-Service

One of the features LogonBox provides for your users is to allow them to reset their password from anywhere using just a web browser. LogonBox is pre-configured to support sending a one-time password to the users email address. You can try this yourself with a test account. Navigate to your LogonBox and click on the Reset Password button and follow the prompts.

This initial configuration may not be suitable for you needs, for example, if the email is being sent to the users business email address and they need to login using their password to access this, then this flow configuration will not be for you. You can of course require that the user provide an alternative address, or configure the one-time password to be sent as an SMS.

Or you can setup an entirely different authentication flow using one of the many supported authentication types we support.

Enable Password Reminders

Once you have configured Password Self-Service to your requirements, you should enable the sending of password reminder emails to keep your user reminded about their password life cycle.

Password Reset from Windows Logon

One of the most common password reset requests is to enable users to be able to reset their passwords from the Windows Logon prompt. LogonBox provides a Windows Credential Provider for this purpose.

Customizing the User Interface

We love our brand! but not everyone wants the same look and feel. Your users will be more familar seeing their own company logo and colors. That's why we've added the option for all tenants to customise the user interface by adding their own logo and changing colors via CSS.

Branding the User Interface

There are also options for customizing the user portal, the main front end users experience when they first open up LogonBox in the browser. Here you can remove buttons if they are not wanted and/or change the text on the buttons.
